Thread lift
Dissolvable threads placed under the skin to pull sagging tissue upward and hold it there.
- Treatment time
- 30–60 min
- Downtime
- 3–7 days
- How long it lasts
- 12–18 months
How it works
Barbed threads are passed through the layer beneath the skin and used to lift tissue into position. The threads dissolve over several months, and collagen forming around them extends the effect somewhat beyond that.
Used for
- A jawline that has lost definition
- Sagging around the nasolabial folds
- Cheek tissue that has dropped
Cautions
- Severe sagging may be better served by surgical lifting
- Opening the mouth wide is uncomfortable for two to three weeks
- On thin skin the threads can be felt or seen
Aftercare
- Avoid wide mouth opening and hard chewing for two weeks
- No facial massage or sleeping face-down for three weeks
- Swelling and tightness settle over one to two weeks
