Ulthera (focused ultrasound)
Non-surgical lifting that focuses ultrasound deep in the skin to create heat and tighten tissue.
- Treatment time
- 30–60 min
- Downtime
- 0–2 days
- How long it lasts
- 6–12 months
How it works
Focusing ultrasound to a single point creates high heat only at that point. Placing those points precisely down at the SMAS layer — not at the surface — makes the tissue contract, and new collagen forms over the following months for a gradual lift. Nothing is cut, so there is no scar.
Used for
- Sagging jawline and double chin
- Slight descent of the cheeks and brows
- Early to moderate laxity when surgery is not wanted
Cautions
- It hurts — a deep ache against the bone; numbing cream or painkillers are used
- The result appears over two to three months, not immediately
- With little subcutaneous fat the cheeks can look hollowed
Aftercare
- Tingling and a pressed feeling can linger for days
- Avoid sauna and hard exercise for a week
- Be more careful than usual with moisturiser and sunscreen
